How do Chambers of Commerce help Family Enterprises?

There are more than 2.5 million family enterprises in Spain. They represent 75% of private employment; they employ more than 9 million workers; they make 59% of the Spanish exports; finally, their total turnover equals to 70% of the Spanish GDP. 

However, only 30% of these companies extends to the second generation; that means generational transition periods are their particular Achilles’ heel.

Family enterprises and entrepeneur families, with their particular capacities, potentials, and competitive advantages, must take on those challenges inherent to any company; besides, they have to face other different challenges specific to their own nature, which  frequently put their existance and continuity at risk.

Hence the need for helping the entrepeneur family, to sensitize them, form them, inform them, and offer them the necessary tools to secure a good organization of the family-enterprise relationship, in areas such as succession, property, professionalization, management and government.

This “Family Enterprise Space” means another initiative in this line, where full information will be provided about those activities organized by the Chambers for this kind of enterprise. Besides, any update, piece of news, article, publication, practical advice or courses from any field will be included, provided that it is related to the family enterprise.
