Green C Project – Hotel and Catering Business
Gijon Chamber of Commerce has set up the Green C Project.
It is an initiative designed to raise the Hotel and Catering sector’s awareness in environmental issues, throught distinction of the most eco-friendly businesses with the label “Environmentally Friendly Business” .
- Aims:
- Offering the enterprises several techniques to make an efficient use of energy, in view of achieving remarkable reductions in consumption and significant economic savings.
- Making compliance with current legislation easier.
- Having information about authorized waste materials managers at one’s disposal.
- Lowering costs of waste materials management.
- Minimizing waste material generation
- Lowering water consumption
- Intermediate meetings with the different agents involved (Cogersa, EMA, Hidroeléctrica...) in order to analyze the current situation.
- Improving the business’ image.
- Increasing the customers’ fidelity and confidence.
- Increasing the personnel’s motivation, participation and satisfaction.
- Obtaining a label or seal that honors all those eco-friendly businesses.
- Methodology::
- Being familiarized with the different businesses’ starting situation with regard to:
- Material resources used
- Efficient energy management
- Efficient water management
- Waste materials management
- Noise management
- Efficient resource management (consumables)
- Crossed meetings with different agents involved.
- Supplying some basic recommendations in environmental issues to businesses.
- Presentation of the fair practices catalogue and handing over of badges to the participant businesses.
- Lenght of the Project: October 2008 to May 2009
- Subsidized up to 90%
- Final cost per business: 160€ + VAT
- Registration: until 22nd October 2008
